What does MJR stand for? ›

The chain took its name from its original slogan, "Movies Just Right." However, most moviegoer's now know the name from MJR's current slogan, "It's More Fun at MJR," as heard during the beloved advertising jingle appearing before the start of every movie.

They've recently installed CUDDLE chairs, which are twice the price of a normal ticket but which seat two people. They do not recline and are not quite as comfortable as the other chairs but it;s very nice to be able to snuggle up with your spouse or child.

Children 6 & under are not permitted into 'PG-13' rated features after 6:00PM (Exceptions may be provided for Family films that are rated PG-13). Minors under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 21 years of age for 'R' rated features.

History. MJR Theatres was created in 1980 by Mike Mihalich with the acquisition of Main Theatre (sold in 1997 and now known as the Main Art Theatre) in Royal Oak, Michigan.

The MJR® Epic Experience boasts one of the largest cinema screens in Michigan. The EPIC screen in our Troy locations is eight stories wide and four stories tall, guaranteeing an immersive presentation.
